Biography:Arthur P. Moiwo is a fifty-year-old teacher who no longer teaches because of vision problems. He now sells various medications and spends most of his time drinking in the town of Nyandehun, the town where he was born and still lives. He has been educated up to Form 5 (fifth year of secondary school) and has traveled some in the area. He speaks Krio and a little English in addition to both Kim and Mende. Both his parents were Kim and spoke Kim to him and to their four other children, but he claims he was the only one who responded to them in Krim. He continues to speak Kim with his drinking companions, who form an informal Kim social club. He expressed a great interest in helping us with the project. |
